'Audible York' is a GPS tour guide app developed by local homeless people, which enables residents and visitors alike to uncover the city’s history from a variety of different social perspectives.

Our fist tour is hosted by 'Milo', a time-traveller who explores poverty and social disadvantage across the decades.

It's available to download for both iPhone and Android devices free of charge as we refine the functionality and design of the platform through a series of live updates.

Our second app will be released in April 2022, and uncovers the history of York from a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender viewpoint.

In addition to stories told by local LGBT people, it shines a spotlight on the lives of famous residents from Frankie Howard to Anne Lister (Gentleman Jack), with WH Auden, Alcuin of York and Stuart Feather, one of the founders of Gay Pride in the UK, also being featured.
